    Smile audacity from PC works

Yes HOMEMADEHITSHOW, I have tried it successfully for about 8 to 10 ringtones. That's the only way I'll do it until they come up w a better way. Besides, I don't believe that anyone should post anything to this forum wout trying what they suggest and also being successful with what they suggest.

As "odd" as it sounds, it works. Until they come up win a better way, this is what I do with my Droid. And I have also been successful sending them to other cells via mms or text msg.

*** forget about the technical difference between mp3 and mid files (I actually have a computer science degree) the fact of the matter is that some cell phones (older non droid cells) only use mid files as ringtones. So you must send them as mid files...otherwise they are useless and all of the work you did was for nothing.

I used to sing the ringtones as Sound MMS

Thats what I used to do on my Samsung Omnia and lg Dare

So my girlfriend was wanting some ringtones for her EnV2. I told her I would send her some. So I googled on how to do this and ended up here. I tried tunkafrankie second step. And it worked exactly like I thought it would. So if you are wanting to send ringtones to a non-droid phone. Follow his steps. They worked excellent.

    thanks

Thanks code_black. My second post is legit and does work. It may seem like a lot, but I just make it wordy and descriptive so its easier for newbies, or anyone, to follow. This method works for any phone...just follow my second post as instructed. Once u try it, u'll see that its not that much work. I don't know why people like HOMEMADE****SHOW try to put it down and try to sound like they know everything, when obviously they don't. Or they'd be able to answer the thread themselves. Maybe people like that are just trying to get u to use their software or sell something or shy others away from something that works. Thanks for the love code_black. Its appreciated...now spread the wealth! LOL

No problem. Some just probably don't want to think it is that easy. When in fact it is that easy. I'm a former technician with Sprint. Verizon and Sprint use the same CDMA technology. So I knew there was a way to do it. I just didn't know the domain to send it to. Thanks for showing me that.

You guys are sooo crazy !!! Pointing out your qualification is a pure sign of not knowing what you are talking about. Code Black nice to pile on when you have no clue what you're talking about, please point me to these apps I'm sellng CRAAAZY

I'm still confused about what the complication is. On the Droid I can take any MP3 (usually shortened via Ringdroid) or download from Zedge or similar then I text message it to my kids or wife (using Env Touch and some old LG phone) and they come as MMS they click on them and save them as ringtones. There's really no need for everything else. If you don't have the MP3 on your Droid then Mobile17 is good, Zedge has a HUGE selection and you can transfer it to the Droid then text message it from there ?

I and do love my Grease Monkey Firefox scripts that allow me to totally ignore users here, it's as if they don't exist - and I did all this without a Computer Science degree.

I apologize. Did I say something that isn't true? I was just stating a fact.

And way to go with your grease monkey firefox script. Doesn't take a genius to write one of those.

the hang up is when I do by shortening a mp3 to about 18 seconds and save it as a ring tone using ringdroid, when I try to send it, it tells me the length of my message is to long. I am trying to make ringtones for my fiance who has a new Alias2, I could send them just fine to her from my BB Storm but not the droid.

and further more, you are the one questioning these people so they decided to answer you with their degree. Why are you being a jerk>

furthermore, if i cut the ring tone to less than 15 seconds, it still does not work.

so the question is, do you know what you're talking about?

You might look and see what file format the ringtones are saving as in your girlfriends phone. And try and find a convertor if it's different from the mp3 file. Other than that. I do not know.
