I deleted all my contacts and used the wave secure app to restore them and it worked great as well.

No battery drain here.A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.

Luckily I figured this out early and use Mobile Defense instead. Mobile Defense doesn't let you wipe/backup data like WaveSecure, but you can track and lock remotely, as well as install it as a system app so it is not visible and not uninstallable from the phone -

thanks so much for that. really appreciate it. I can't find mobile defense on the market though?
