Phone Favorites

My phone is automatically adding some of my contacts to my Favorites List. How do I get it to:
1. Stop automatically adding favorites.
2. Add my own favorites.
3. Delete contacts from my Favorites List without deleting them from my contacts.

You have to set up "My Contacts" in you gmail on line. Go to your gmail account and you will see how to do that.

Next you may want to set it up on your Droid so that it only takes contacts that have phone numbers. You do this in contacts on your Droid in the settings.

If you have favorites you give it a gold star. Google doesn't do that automatically so double check your settings if that's what you are talking about.

Went to my Gmail account in Google. All of my contacts are there. None of my contacts are starred. I couldn't find any instructions about favorites. Help !
