Browsing internet while in a call? Possible?

Hey all. Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've been reading the forums for a while and haven't seen this come up. I was on a call yesterday and put the person on speakerphone because I felt like playing on the internet while talking. The glitch was my 3g was gone, and only reappeared after I hung up the call. Is there a way around this (an app?). I am not willing to root, so please suggest an alternative method if there is one.

I know apple advertises on their commercials that they can do this; c'mon, Droid, I know you can do it!

This isn't a limitation of the Droid - this is a limitation of Verizon's CDMA network. It doesn't allow for simultaneous voice and data over the network. As Cisco said, you can surf on wifi while on the phone, but that's the only option.

Thank you kindly, sir. And no workaround, with an app at all?

Unfortunately not. It's a network limitation so there's nothing we can do.

That would be a no. Again it has to do with the CDMA network. Only with wifi can you do this.

There is no update that can make this possible.

It has to do with the network type Verizon currently uses. No update to the phone's hardware or software, or any app will change the type of network the phone is on. We're stuck with this situation for the long haul.
