i have an old droid a855 and it comes on and i can see light behind the screen but the screen doesn't work. Is there anyway i can reset it to get it to work?

You could try this; Turn the phone off, slide open the keyboard & hold up on the d-pad while holding the power(no more than 10 secs). This will turn the phone on & put it in the boot loader. If it works, you should see lines of text.

Not that I can think of. This is what I was gonna post if it worked. But you may benefit from it: Using RSD Lite to flash an SBF file -- correctly

Problem is, if you can't get the phone into the boot loader, rsd lite won't recognize your phone. Unless it's the screen that's out. If so, you may be able to find a cell phone repair shop in your area that can replace it.

Mine just did this yesterday. Open slider keyboard, press X and hold while powering up. Continue to hold X. It took several seconds, probably 5-8 but mine came up in recovery, then I started over with SS5.6.
