The Droid 1 put Android on the map since it was released on a major carrier with the best coverage in this country.
Not only that but it was an open device that allowed lots of developement which put this site on the map (when all the others failed due to bickering). Finally it was a Motorola. Hands down the best built and by far best reception devices on the market.
The bummer is that VZW refused to release another developer device until the Gnex. And though many report it to be a good device, I have read almost as many problems with it (stock and/or rooted) as those trying to get an ultimate droid rom working on the D1, lol.
I'm still rockin' my A855 until I can get an Gnex upgrade for next to free or Motorola Mobility (now owned by Google) releases the next Motorola developer phone.
And that option isn't in the poll.
Just sayin'

I went from a D1 to a Rezound and now that I'm rooted, ICS, and no sense, I love it. My wife went from a a D2 to a GNex and is quite happy.

I have tried to edit this 4 times, and each time when I put capital letters in here, it changes them back to lower case! I can't get it.
