Need to get my Droid back to the newest OTA version

I have tried and tried every ROM out there and I just can't find one that works correctly so I want to go back to the original Droid ROM that it came with. Does anyone have that zip file?

My wife now has my original Droid and it's had Chevy's SS 4.96 on it for months and months and it works.

Funny you posted that, I just went back to that stock rom about a week ago since I just couldnt get the stability I needed from any roms.

You need to sbf if you want to go back to stock 2.2.2

before you switch back to stock have you tried "Charity ROM version 12.7"? It's a nice smoked glass, with neon green accents. I've been using it for almost a year now and had no problems. Stable, fast, rooted. If custom ROMs aren't for you have you thought about just the stock rom rooted? That's very stable, rooted, and with one of P3droid's overclock kernels it's blazing fast. I have all the files you would like them... just PM me.

If you really, truly need to get your OG Droid back to completely stock, on the latest OTA (FRG83G) the best place for the tools to do so is at Sholes - Peter Alfonso

Start your phone in bootloader mode (camera+vol-down+power) and use RSD Lite to flash in the SBF containing a clean FRG83G. It's just that simple. FRG83G = Android 2.2.2

P3Droid still keeps a stash of Froyo kernels as well, should you wish to root & overclock. Peter Alfonso even stashes pre-rooted versions of all the OTA's on his site too.

Should you decide to get back into custom ROMs again, there's a version of ClockworkMod Recovery that can be flashed in with RSD Lite as well. You can then boot into recovery (Power+X) and install as normal.
