    Messaging/Email Question

    When I press the Messaging icon on the home screen, I get a thread with all the texts between me and someone. How do i set it to where when I press messaging it brings up my inbox with just my received messages? Also, I'll get an alert saying I have a new email but when I check it on the phone or on my pc there isn't one. I have it set up through Hotmail. Any ideas?
