    Voice-to-text Issue

    Sorry if there's another thread out there about this, I just spent the better part of 45 minutes sorting through google and DF trying to find a solution to my problem, but what I found was either irrelevant or extremely outdated...

    Anyways, my voice-to-text won't work. At all. The microphone icon in swype doesn't pop up anything or give me any option to speak into the phone. I just downloaded Speaktoit Assistant to try it out, and I realized that voice-to-text doesn't work at all, in any apps or keyboards for me. I tried coming up with a fix for this myself, but I couldn't. I tried installing tts synthesis apps and all that from the market, as well as play aroudn in voice input/output settings. I can't figure this out...

    Can anyone help me out here?

    Okay well I guess I figured it out. I guess I needed to have Voice Search installed. After I installed it, it works. Not really sure why I have to have this specific app for it to work, or why it wasn't on my phone in the first place, but at least it works now
