    Partially Dead Screen

    Hey guys,

So ive been using an older A855 for a while now (its actually still within my original 2 year contract from its release) and apparently the touch screen broke. But not all of it. The phone works fine, except for a column of dead touch screen from my Home button up the entire screen. Everywhere else works. So uh, wtf? Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Yes, the digitizer in your phone partially took a dive. I have one sitting in my house right now that has the same issue in the exact same location that my father-in-law gave me and I would like to fix. He had his for only a week or two when it went out over a year ago.

You can replace it, but if you have a warranty on it still, I would suggest taking it back and having them swap it out for you.

The digitizer runs less than $20, but if you aren't mechanically inclined, I wouldn't chance it.
When rooting your device, the phrase "nothing worth doing is ever easy" applies!
Avoid the 1 click root methods!
