Need help with Motorola Droid Build Number
Before any one chimes in and says try the search feature... I did!!! thats why im posting this because i got everything but Build Number info!
I was having an issue with my Droid's keyboard lights not coming on and the touch keys at the bottom of the screen lighting up intermittently. I took it to the verizon store and they couldnt figure it out, so they had a replacement sent to me. While waiting on my 3rd droid to come in (my first one had the random power off issue) I decided to take my Mirror screen protector off to get the phone ready to ship, plus even though i liked the look it made it difficult to see in direct sun light. Well after taking the screen protector off it started working with out flaw again. and so that you dont think im some idiot i did have the sense to notch the upper right corner of the screen protector out so the sensor was not covered.
My question is should i send my droid back with the build # of 39/09 for the new droid with the build # of 51/09. does the build # make that much of a difference in the quality of the phone? I have spent a lot of time customizing the appearance of my droid and dont want to start over if there is no need. I do understand that all my apps will still be there but I will have to reconfigure everything on my home screens again. I like to switch between GDE, Home ++, and PandaHome, but i do primarily use GDE. Thanks in advance for the help.
By the way I am by no means an android or a droid expert, but compared to the techs at the Verizon store in Dublin, GA I am a Droid and android GOD!!! When they took a look at my home screens the all ood and awed and said how did you get more than 3 screens, and how did you get your screen to rotate like that (GDE Cube). These same techs all had Droids of their own. The also wanted to know how i got my icons to be different than default. So i held an impromptu Droid 101 class for them and introduced the to the "Android Market", and GDE, Home++, bettercut, PDANet, and many other miracle apps. I for once didnt feel like the noob, because that is definately how i feel when reading through this forum. I am soaking up yall's knowledge like a sponge and learning a lot.
Thanks for that as well,
Steve
