a 32GB card in my DROID would free up two 16GB cards for use in my camera, up from my 8GB cards that I have.
what's sad is I have four HDs, all with 15GB or less of space left.
awesome, completely replace my ipod now that i will be able to fit my movies on.
can we preorder these anywhere? and when will they be available for purchase? last thing, do we now roughly how much they will cost?
Not much detail in that post. I'm very excited to see 32GB micros coming out, but what class is it? I think I read something about google considering letting us install right to the sd card and run from there, having a faster card could make the difference in phone performance, especially if we could allocate partitions and use a portion as swap or cache..... good stuff either way I'm psyched.
would this make the phone any quicker?
right now? probably not, but with the foundation being laid out for higher performance especially in the 3d applications and if google lets us install and run directly from the card instead of having to install into system memory... .yeah it could make a diffference.
You'd also be able to transfer files to/from much faster. large pic and movie collections will be a little faster popping up and what not....
It won't make or break your phone, lets put it that way, but it's nice to have
what ever happen to compact flash and regular sd... Damn early adapters got hurt... I'm still keeping my CF for regular back ups now..
This is probably going to be a really slow card. I would love to know if a faster card than the OEM one would improve camera speed. anybody know?
don't see it increasing speed for camera function, just assessing stored files at the same speed as a 8 gig card.
Looks like SanDisk has you covered: Newegg.com - SanDisk Extreme 32GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Model SDSDX3-032G-A31 - Flash Memory
Of course you'll pay $270 for it, which is probably more than you paid for your Droid.... 30 megs per second, not bad....
