Okay, now that I've got my invite, I need to decide whether to get a google number or just use my cell. But I also have another concern...
What are the downsides (if any) to using google voice with my Droid? What works well with Verizon in regards to my account, and what do I have to be on the lookout for.
It seems that if I use G-Voice all the time I won't use any of my monthly minutes (if that's correct).
Pros and Cons please (or direct me to any threads talking about this)...
(Sorry for what seems to be stupid questions. Being a science-geek at heart, I try to get as much information as possible before deciding on a course of action. Heh - some people think I over-analyze too much.
)

I would love an invite if someone has any available.

Hey if anyone has a Google Voice invite can you send me one please!
I can even give you an it-leaked invite if that helps.
-
I would love to get an invite also. Thanks in advance.

Kevin, check out this thread: Google Voice - what is it & what does it do for me?
It's a lot to sort through, but there's a ton of discussion around GV not using your minutes. You can ignore most of that - GV uses your verizon minutes. You're still making a call on their network, GV just routes/forwards it for you. The only way to get truly unlimited calling is if you have a calling circle to which you can add your GV number.
Also, if you use GV voicemail, you will be charged airtime while a caller leaves you a message. Because the Verizon network forwarded your call into your GV voicemail, you get charged airtime for the duration of that connection.
Those are kind of the main downsides. Most everything else is good. That thread has other good info and tips. Enjoy!

Android, therefore I am.

If anyone has an extra invitation I would surely love it. Thanks
