Many of the newer phones including my X2 are having problems with astronomy apps like google sky map. They don't track well and east and west is reversed making the app useless. Has anyone heard about a fix?

I noticed the same problem. I can move my phone way too far before I see a changer and it is super inaccurate.

Yup. Add that to the list of issues. Messed with for a week then gave up.

As far as I can tell this effects every gingerbread rom out there. Google doesn't seem to care about fixing it.
Google Dumps Six Services, Including Picnik and Google Sky Map
From this it appears that Google Sky Map has been discontinued. But it does appear to have been open sourced so someone else may come along and fix it. It is in the market as just "Sky Map" but it is the same program so far.
