That's the interesting part, because VZW said LTE would come out in Q4, and that handsets would be available in Q1. That would seem to indicate the Droid Pro WOULD NOT be LTE compatible, unless VZW won't have it until Q1 (which might make sense because the Q4 release is an old, old rumor).
Count me to be as one of the next owner of this phone. It can be handy with our virtual assistant service company's executives. Thanks for the information.

Yeah, I'd get that phone.
In fact, I'd get 5!![]()
After talking to a Verizon Rep at my home store, he said phones and LTE services would be rolling out around Thanksgiving. He said that a limited release would happen then and around Q2 2011 LTE service would roll out to everyone, but the phones will start rolling out in November. All just speculation but just a little more info on this.
As for the phone, I am a D1 owner and would kill for this phone. Was thinking about the D2 when its released but I think im just gonna wait for more info on the Pro.
Thanks for the update!
I'm anxiously awaiting the Pro and LTE, as well. Although, if the Droid Pro has a physical keyboard it might be a big turn-off for me. With Swype I have no real need for the keyboard and don't want the extra bulk.
Got my Droid this past January, so my early 1yr upgrade wouldn't be until 2011, anyway. Going to be an unhappy camper if they don't offer early upgrades for the Pro.
Oh, I'll raise a fuss which judging from this thread appears to be effective. Plus, I'm a "high value" customer, I think, since I've been on VZW for about 7 years and now I'm on unlimited minutes.
But if LTE is not in my home coverage area (but I live in a major city I'd expect to have it) I'll stick with the Droid 1.
I am a big fan of swype too, it is really the best keyboard but there is nothing like a physical keyboard to type a long text or email. But I dont think the keyboards add TOO MUCH bulk to the phones to where it is unusable.
But I am sure, just like the X, they will offer early upgrades for this phone. Surely they wont make you wait for the best phone and the new service if you're already a smartphone owner.
Another quick thing i asked him about was the tiered data plans. He said to me that they are all but confirmed but no set deadline to be rolled out, but he did say that the word is that if you already have a unlimited data plan then you get to keep it once you renew your contract. Only new lines will be put to the tiered plans once they roll out.
