To remove the shutter sounds, you'll need to root the phone. It is the same method used to remove the DROID startup sound. You'll find information in this thread: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dro...d-startup.html
well thats retarded lol wow... even flip phones could do that... what about timestamps?
A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.

The sound is there for a reason.

what reason other than letting you know the picture is taken? same as any digital camera.. that option is always able to be turned off.. its just a flaw in the platform, unless you have a better reason as to why its there... same goes for not being able to remove the image properties... you would think it could do this.
US cell phone camera law might not really click | Tech Gear News - Betanews
Although its intent seems to be in the right place, a newly proposed US law imposing an audible alert on cell phone cameras raises thorny issues about actual implementation in the real world.
Along the same lines as existing laws in Japan and Korea, the Camera Phone Predator Alert Act now introduced into US Congress is aimed at thwarting sexual predators.

Yeah, but I guess the thinking behind the difference is that it's a little more difficult to take a picture with a digital camera without someone realizing what you might be doing since you're holding a camera. It's easy to make it look like you're doing something else with your phone and take a picture.
I do find the sound annoying when taking a picture though. Very annoying. That's why I got rid of it.![]()
