just received the option to update for 5.9.905.. want to keep root. confused?

still running 5.9.902, just got the alert box last night telling me to upgrade to .905. I'm rooted and i'm confused on what I should do.

So i did some searching, apparently i have two options.
    1. allow the OTA to update, then reroot
    2. install a "forever root" and then allow the OTA to update, no need to reroot.

I'm confused exactly what this forever root is. Is it a rom or an app?
secondly i read in one of the threads that if i have removed/frozen apps i should reinstate them before doing the OTA update. Well i deleted (yes deleted not froze) a lot of bloatware. Has anybody updated without reinstalling these crap apps?

    thanks in advance!

Oh were do I begin, first I can't believe your still on 902 I mean 905 wasn't great but it took this long for you to get the update. As far as the update it will fail because you deleted the apps. Here is my advice take it or leave it. Download the House of bionic and update to ics. First you have to fxz to 905 because you can't do an ota without the apps you deleted then update to 232. Why 232 and not 247 because it sounds like your a novice and if you screw up you can fix your phone much easier. I based your level of knowledge as novice because you deleted and didn't freeze the apps. I wouldn't normally advise you to use the house of bionic. However you have already screwed yourself in deleting the apps so now you have no choice. Here is the link k read everything before you attempt this samuri has made this process damn near idiot proof but then again...... Just read it and understand before you proceed.

Download the 5.9.905 fxz found here to your computer and extract It to your desktop.

    https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B26H...preview?pli=1#

Download rsd lite program found here to your computer

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1348587

Download the latest Motorola drivers found here to your computer. after they are downloaded. Click on them and choose to install them.

    http://download.famouswhy.com/motoro...dows__32_bit_/

And here are the instructions on how to use rsd lite to flash the 905 fxz to your phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1507798

Be sure to have your phone in fastboot mode before you plug it into your computer via USB to do the flash. You can get into fastboot mode by holding down the volume down key and power button at the same time when phone is off. And make sure your phone had plenty of battery left before you do it.

Download voodoo ota rootkeeper from play store. Run the program and follow the directions. Then update your phone and after use voodoo again to restore root. Worked for me even going into ics
