Just ran a CPU test and I guess I was one of the lucky ones to get 1.2!
Its there a good benchmark app out there that doesn't require root?
Sarge, I want to try OCing. Which I understand means I have to root?
I don't mean to start a ruccus, and I don't mean to argue, but this is the kind of stuff that bothers me about jumping the gun now:
From your FAQ:That's the one I used. I'm right now trying to install (246) file but it keeps burping, giving me a "An error occurred while trying to copy a file: The source file is corrupted." I retried twice, but still the same error. I'm going shut down some things I'm running, including antivirus (AVG) to see if that helps.
EDIT: I'm downloading the file again, in case it was actually corrupted.
I want to be guarenteed that my ICS update will be the final version, that I'm on the OTA path, and that I don't screw up my phone in the process. And I also would prefer it to be an easy, seamless process just like my dad's Droid 4 when it was updated to ICS from GB. While HoB sounds pretty nice, it doesn't guarantee anything and everything. And as mentioned before, it really is just a leap of faith when you use it. I'm excellent with computers, but I'm still very new when it comes to smartphones and tablets.Q: If I update to 235/238/242/244, how do I get back on the OTA path?
A: I'm sorry, you failed this test! You can't is the simple answer. Those versions have security that disallow going back to 905 which is required to take the OTA. You may be able to use the HoB to move to a new build and possibly even the OTA build when it's released, but, that is not guaranteed.
