Gps problems

im on stock 232 and when i use navigation everything works fine..it locks on location and says the directions fine,BUT when i hit the pwer button to turn off the backlight it says "gps signal lost" and when i turn the backlight on it has a pop up that says "gps disabled settings?" and when i go into settings gps is not disabled so i back out and it resumes with directions just fine as long as i dont turn off the back light!things i've tried :in maps wipe cache and data:in cwm wipe cache and dalvik:uninstall updates to maps..no go..reinstall updates..no go...i've done everything but an fxz..the only thing i've done recently is install tweakers oc with ics int.d that boots every time. any other ideas?
