    Android OS .232 battery drain

anyone else see that the android os is burning up most of the battery... i was mainly on the .2233 leak for a long time.. since it first came out, up until last week where i decided to change to .232.. i noticed that in .2233 the android os wouldnt show at teh bottom of the list now in .232 its at teh top.. checked all teh settings and there the same from when i used .2233.... the android os is using up about 62% of my battery... so just curious anyone else seeing this in .232?

Its relative usage. It depends upon what and how much you are using the phone for. Idle handsets will show higher android percentage usage than a handset that is moderately or heavily used.

Exactly what I was about to say. The %s can be really misleading if you don't take them in context. A phone that has been laying around will show idle process and android OS at the top. A phone that has been in heavy use will show display at the top and OS in the top 3 or 4. If you've been multitasking heavily OS and display will be at the top, as well as any apps you've been using that generate their own battery stats, etc.

just seemed odd since coming from .2233 leak ...been using the phone about the same.. and battery is not as good as .2233.. might do the same redo it again with a clean install....just figured 62% was a little high for idle

Now THREE people I know have confirmed that the update to the new Android OS is now draining over 30% of our battery power. I have the extended battery, which used to last me 2 days. I use my phone for emails, photos, and internet searching for my work. It does not matter how much one uses the phone: This Adroid OS will suck over 30%. Even after sitting idle, or emailing... It is a flaw in their new update.

There is a fix for the new Android OS Battery Drain!

    There is a fix!!
If you have a Motorola phone (ours is a Droid Bionic), call Motorola Tech Support: (800) 734-5870
They will walk you thru cleaning out the system cache and rebooting you phone. It will not affect your data or personal media.
You have to push buttons simultaneously, and separately.
    Give it aa try!

    Clearing Cache is quite easy

    1) Power down
    2) Boot into Recovery by pressing Power, Vol Up & Down simultaneously
    3) Vol Down for Recovery, then Vol Up
    4) When the Android appears, press Vol Up & Down simultaneously
    5) Vol Down to "Wipe Cache Partition"
    6) Press Power
    7) When cache is cleared and done, press Power to reboot

Thank you jaylee for signing up to the forums just to revive a 4 month old thread about an obsolete leak.
