BTW. Didn't start tearing computers apart until my second one so I guess I am behind the power curve. With 5 kids, I never had the time to "tinker" with software. Now I do!!

Honestly the terminology is confusing and i havent seen a thread that just outright explains what is happening in the process of flashing or using scripts.

Id love to learn exactly what is happening and fully understand whats going on but where do we find that at? In the op of the downgrade to 902 thread, i read through it and it really doesnt explain to the novice user what is happening or why. Its just written for people who already know this stuff.

So im not trying to be rude, i really do want to learn how this all works, but i dont know of a thread that actually explains things to the beginner. And it seems that if anyone here asks what are perceived to be “noob" questions they just get flamed or ridiculed.

I would like more info on the nuts and bolts of how all of these processes are put together! However, I try to be respectful of the amount of time it must take to put this stuff together. So I read and re-read the instructions given and basically just blindly trust that it will go as planned. I have seen that if you have enough info about what went wrong, then someone can help to get out of a jam!
Without having to re-write the bible here, can someone point me in the direction of 'a little bit of how things work'. As I have said many times, THANK YOU for leading the way SAMURI and many others!!

Sam, I understand your point. I am relatively new to flashing and updating my phone but I started using computers when all there was was dos so I am comfortable with your script. I tried to flash the upgrade using the script and also manually. My biggest problem was that the RSDLite program was not finding my phone (still not sure why). Had that not happened, I would be a full up round with the phone and ICS 238. Now that the phone is talking to RSDLite, everything is moving along nicely. While not a programmer, I feel pretty good about understanding what is going on in the script. I also know enough to appreciate everything that you have done for us. I would be less likely to reach as far as I have without your help. Thank you!

Also for those having issues with the file disable your antivirus or at least make it so that the program will allow it. I found that when tried it yesterday vista was trying to tell me no since there is no signed certificate for it. Yes windows thought sam was out to hurt it.

It wouldn't be wrong. LOL! No, I'd not do that to my users. I had several private testers for 3.0 before I posted links to it.
