Basically, imagine a world where Hitler never existed. Same idea. At this stage in the game I don't see any phone being vastly superior to another, it's the little differences that matter. And sadly, with the Bionic one of its little differences was a big issue...
A world without Hitler, and the technology that was created because of him. I think we wouldn't be talking here, but I get what you mean. Every phone that's made comes out on time and works perfectly.

Even so, my demands on a phone are different than others. I want a phone that will take and send calls. I want a phone to send and receive emails. I want a phone that can entertain me if needed. In that order. And the Bionic does that for me. Never had a data problem since I got the phone. Doesn't matter if it was .558, .893, .901 or .902.

I don't need an unlocked bootloader. I don't need a rooted phone. I don't want to scream that I can't decide what ROM to use. That's other people's needs, not mine.

Others find the RAZR, RAZR MAXX and the Nexus (for example) superior because of the screen and what they can do with it. My comment about the e815 was to say all I really need a a phone (although my desire to be able to receive and send emails almost prompted me to getting a Blackberry) and everything else TO ME is icing on the cake.

The Bionic is a BEAST. A clearer display does notmake a phone superior. The bionic is on par with every other device on Verizon. I have no problem going the full 2 years of my contract with this phone. Enough development available. Best cellphone purchase I've made yet.

Left the Bionic because of data drops. Came back after the 902 update because the Rezound might be a better phone in some ways but the battery sucks (even extended). I'll take my millisecond delay in loading a screen (compared to other phones) and my 36 hour battery life any day of the week!

I started with the OG Droid and thought it was an amazing phone. Came from a Palm Treo and couldn't believe the things my Droid could do. After 2 years I realized that there just wasn't enough power and storage. I saw the Bionic when it was introduced and couldn't wait for it to come on the market. I bought it on day 1. It had/has everything the original Droid was missing in my eyes.
I experienced some data drops and a couple of BSOD but nothing to discourage me or cause me to look for another phone. The last update (902) has been perfect. Just like my phone is now. I'm not rooted and everything is stock.
Like the first post, I used to check the forums (a lot of them) daily looking for the latest info. I still check often but the one thing I've noticed in the Bionic forums.......not much happening. That tells me that most folks are pretty happy. I know I am.

I agree. Compared to other forums, the Bionic forum is down-right boring. I guess boring = goodness.

Well if you decide to get a ROM, get Eclipse 2.2!
I noticed a huge difference in fluidity with it.
The home screen scrolls so quick and smooth, I just love it.
Your experience would be better with it!

100% agree about Eclipse 2.2 being the best ROM to use on the Bionic. Although, I feel like there aren't that many to choose from. Compared to the options that other devices have. I'm completely new to the ROOT game tho. I barely rooted my Bionic, which was the fist device I did root, about a month ago. When I was looking for ROMs to flash, I saw that besides Eclipse, Liberty3 was the only other ROM that was available, and that was actually still being worked on. I could be wrong tho. Like I said, a month is all the experience I have with this stuff. I'm actually still relatively new to the Bionic. Only just receiving it on Christmas day last year. But it is by far THE BEST phone I've ever owned. I think it's because of the Bionic that I developed this interest in all the stuff you can do with android devices that aren't the main purposes. I find myself on these forums, and other sites forums, for hours each day. Trying to find new things to learn. Android is awesome, and the Bionic is the best device that runs it!
