    Google currents memory hog?

So, i had Currents on my bionic, and just uninstalled it. I noticed the free space on my media area sd card was down to about 300 mb left.

Using ES FILE file explorer, found in the android/data/currents folder was over 1.7 GB in size! WTF?

Uninstalled currents, but the data files from currents remained. Tried to delete them, but wasn't allowed to. Ended up having to move the files to ext-sd card, and delete from there, freeing up 1.7 gb on the media area.

Has anyone else experienced this? Also, why the hell would a news reader app take up more space than 3 gameloft titles???????
