Droid Bionic Rebooting At Random
Hello droid forums. I seem to have a crippling issue here. Ever since I i first started the phone (which was today) It's been randomly rebooting. Even during the activation! I figured it was an issue with the stock rom, so I flashed kin3tx on it, still the same issues. It reboots when i plug the charger in (sometimes) when it's been in sleep for like 10 seconds, when i'm using it, just whenever the heck it feels like. This is a huge issue, and i really need it solved. Is there some sort of upgrade i can do? Or am I going to have to re flash the stock rom from the fastboot recovery, and take it to verizon? (which I don't want to to, for a number of reasons including the fact that i perfectly installed a screen protector) I really need some help guys. Anything you can tell me will be helpful. And don't tell me to google it, nothing is really pertaining to my exact issue. Thanks in advance!

One possibility is the contacts on the battery. Pull the battery and ensure none of the contacts are bent. They should all align with their respective slots in the battery housing. Failing that, sure sounds like you've got a bad phone that needs to go back. Lose the screen protector, you don't need them since the phone has gorilla glass. Like app killers, screen protectors are a gimmick and totally unnecessary. If you feel they are necessary, then I suggest an iphone....

I just went to Verizon and had my extended battery replaced with a new one because every time I dropped my phone onto the table my phone rebooted. New battery= no more reboots 4 me

RE:
I'm not sure what it was, butI replaced it at the verizon store. They replaced it with a brand new phone, and gave me a free pack of screen protectors, and upgraded my data to 5 GB per month for no extra charge. Gotta love verizon! lol

It was the screen protector! When you unnecessarily apply them on top of the scratchproof Gorilla Glass, the phone will rebel by powering off repeatedly until you either relent and leave it off, or get an Iphone!

Lol I find that to be the most likely explanation. Next would be the battery. Bad connection. Like I said, Verizon traded me for a new battery, no problem. But most likely the gorilla is pissed at your lack of faith

I would definitely recommend screen protector. Its not a gimmick. Gorilla glass is not scratch resistant. I used otterbox defender for first couple of months. Until i bought extended battery. Bought case that fit battery but no longer had the screen protection. Didnt bother to put on screen protector and dropped my phone on its face one day. It put 2 scratches on glass. You really have to look for them...but they are there. Cursed myself for not applying protector and immediately bought one. Why not? Better safe than sorry.

Yeah, sand/rock/concrete/diamonds can scratch Gorilla Glass. Still, I can't stand the bluriness and smeariness with a screen protector and will risk going bareback to get the full experience.
I read the other day that they are testing a new anti-smear coating...

I was mostly kidding. Having a case and a screen protector is the smart way to go. But I've done every one of my fones like that in the past and what happens is I spend 2 years with a fat phone with a slightly not pure looking screen but it is in perfect condition underneath and I always love taking the case off to see how cool the fone actually is.
I've changed. Now I wear my phone completely naked and as cool as possible. Now after 2 years maybe it wont be in perfect mint condition but oh well. I really enjoy letting my phone be naked. I was constantly taking m OG DROID out of the case to admire its beauty before reluctantly putting it back in.
Besides, if I had a case in my bionic plus an extended battery people would think I had an awful HUGE retarded phone. it's all a matter of preference based on your lifestyle. My life is calm enough to have faith that it will be fine without the protection. Sorry to the OP for being off topic

I get it. I bought the Otterbox Defender and it made my phone huge! I took it out and don't use a case anymore. Also bought an extended battery and didn't like the extra bulkiness, so I put it back in the box and put it in my junk drawer. I guess I like a sleek, sexy phone.
