What exactly is a pentile screen? And what is so bad about it?

Nothing is 'bad' about it. Its one preference over another, simple as that. Some are better on sunny days, some are crisper but not as bright.. their is no clear cut definitive best screen out, at least yet. I'm sure some will argue the super amoled+ is the best... but again, technology is changing everyday. I'm waiting for the screen that lets u poke through it and touch the person on the other end

I had a droid x and loved it. I'm in 3g area and the bionic is way faster that the x because of the dual core. When I'm in 4g, its unbelievable.

I am still living in a 3g area but am moving to a 4g area in a couple of months. Problem is, without 4g there is no advantage to having it. Ignore the speed and power on paper. The reality is for everyday use, the Bionic is not worth $300 over a perfectly working X.

Front facing camera... Who cares?

Dual core.. ..no noticeable difference. In fact it has been noted that when you run a quadrant speed test, only one actually runs.

I think you are probably right, but I had to have one anyway (and we have 4G in our town).

I'm loving mine. My Xoom is getting lonely! I will say though, the pentile screen was almost a deal breaker for me. When I saw it firsthand I couldn't stand it, the patterns were very visible to me. However, over 2 weeks later I barely notice them. Now that ive also learned some battery management techiques, I have no regrets at all. (I didn't realize how much background syncing was happening!)
