Costco REALLY Means Business!! Pics Inside

I also got my Bionic from Costco on the 8th, from what they told me, each store got in only 6 units for the first day.
The store that I got it from had that display up in the morning when I first went in to check on it (there shipment had not arrived yet and I was able to get put on the waiting list, I was the fourth to request it and the first back in the store to buy it and get it activated). When I went back into the store to get the phone, they had moved the display out and were shrinkwrapping it to take it to the back.
I thought it was kinda funny at the time becuase it was such a big display with hundreds of cards in it and they only got 6 units, I even made a comment to my wife about it.

Yeah, I thought that was weird too.

Every Costco in the country got 6 Droid Bionics and every store in the country sold out on day 1.

Oh I forgot to mention, I also shot some video in Costco of everything using my Droid Bionic. Should I post it?

Do you know if they actually had a unit in stock for each of those?

I have called 3 costcos in Orange County and they all tell me they are out of stock. I'm looking to nab one of these before the deal ends. Need to contemplate if driving through traffic to Van Nuys is worth it :P

This shot was taken a few days ago so I can't say they have them right now. I have a video of the display as well and in it you can hear one employee passing by saying it's just cardboard and doesn't mean they have them but he was NOT in the phone kiosk and had no idea what they had. The phone kiosk guy walked over and said they had them at that moment but they go fast.

I don't know about Orange County but Costco Van Nuys is apparently one of the busiest locations in the country. Like top 10 or something. Weird, I know. I did not get my phone from Van Nuys because they sold out on the 8th and said it would be a week before they got in another batch. I had to drive to Marina Del Rey to get mine. Then when I went back to Van Nuys the next day the Bionic display was up and I asked why out up display if they were sold out until next week. He said they had them and they were going to get a steady supply of them. I'm guessing because they do so much business they were the first to restock them. You should give them a call. Make sure to ask for Ken, the kiosk manager. Good luck!

I have been wanting to get this phone but it seems that Costco can never keep them in stock and doesn't know when they will be getting more in...I live by about 4 Costco's Ugh!!

FUNNY STORY.... after waiting in front of Costco for a couple hours me and the 5 other idiots waiting in line power walked up to the cell phone display just to find out she was waiting for the UPS truck to come in with the shipment (approx 11:30). After convincing her to write all of our names down on a piece of paper and tell anyone else coming into costco to shove off and we're sold out of Bionics I notice this HUGE pallet display. I grabbed one of the plain old cardboard cutouts seemed pretty nifty.... put it back down, walked around the store for a big killing time.... come back and they hard already taken the whole pallet away and hid it so no one would see it and think they had them still... All of which happened well before UPS actually got there.

Finally!! Lucked out today. I went to 2 Costco's near me and no Bionics. On a whim called one about 25 miles away and they had 3 left so I bee lined it over there and scored #3. Whew.....watched about 4 people come up after me and have to be told I got the last one. Now it's time to figure this thing out.....Picked up the ext. battery from VZW on the way home too. Any ideas on a case for this thing?

i kind'a did the same thing. found one in south oc (laguna niguel). they had 4 left and i was it irvine. i asked the guy if he could hold one for me because i don't want to drive down and it's gone. he said he'll hold it for 45 min. make a long story short, i ended up going to the wrong costco (ladera) which they never got shipment yet. finally figured out which costco i actually called and go there. they still had 4 left. lol

Why did you buy another battery from Verizon. The Costco deal comes with a leather case and extra battery and battery charger.
