first off as far as I have seen from the television advertisements none of them say the eighth....
secondly the advertisements wouldn't take any difference if it was a last second delay.

like the rep told me there was a phone that was previously delayed the day before its scheduled release.

for the bionic that would mean...

september 7th rolls around and whoops we gotta push it back a week or 2

I've seen the commercial 4 times now and it's had the date on all of them.

I agree that they could easily delay it on September 7th.

I think it would be highly doubtful considering the response they would receive from the community and knowing what phones are only +/- 1 Month away.

The stores have their stock already, I imagine it's very uncommon to have stock for a device and have it delayed. I'm not saying your rep is wrong about the previous phone that it happened with, but I would take a guess that is not very common unless a very serious problem has been found, in which case, they can keep this phone=P

I think you're missing the point of course it is highly unlikely and doubtful and everyone would be pissed off. Dont think that stopped them with the droid charge ( I believe that's the 1 he said was delayed) or whichever 1 it what is.

the rep that I spoke with was very forthcoming with the information compared to most reps from what I have heard. he did not say that they have the phones in stock but he did tell me that he would call me when they received them.

so I called bs on your phones in stock statement

the whole point is that I started this thread to say that I had spoken with a corporate store sales rep who confirmed that they would have the phone for sale september eighth barring any last second delay.

I didn't say a last second delay was likely and I didn't say it was unlikely.

relax dude this is not an opinion thread this is a basic reporting of what I was told by a verizon corporate store sales rep yesterday.

honestly I don't care if you think it is unlikely. all that matters is that if there's not a delay the phone is coming out september eighth

My local Verizon store has already received their stock, checked with the manager yesterday that I went to college with.

I don't know how I injected any opinions in my last post, I simply stated that it is uncommon to delay a phone after stores start receiving stock.

The Charge was delayed because the 4G network had technical problems the day before the phone was set to release.

The Bionic is coming out on the 8th, you can take that to the bank. It's 100% happening. There will not be a delay under any circumstances. And the Packers will repeat as SuperBowl champions.

okay so the basic point is that your statement has nothing what so ever to do with what my thread was about! I posted a thread reporting that the verizon representative confirmed the september eighth date for me. on top of that he said unless there is a last second.

first the commercials... so far not 1 person has posted about a commercial saying september eighth on it... not even you until now (after I call bs)... with all the coverage this phone gets I think somebody would have been talking about it majorly.... mmm something smells like poop

secondly your friend saying that the phones are in stock.... same principle you post on your quite a bit I haven't seen you post that information yet so... seems like it's likely that you made that s*** up....
