So I have been using my droid 3 for about a day now. I am one of the OG droid users that decided to make the jump and so far I am happy. But nothing is perfect so as to give some heads up to people on the edge I have so positive and negative points.
First up is the whole motoBlur experience. This is my first time playing with the interface and I have to say I would have greatly preferred to stay with vanilla android experience. There are several apps that no longer work the way I have grown accustomed to. The android email app used to suit me perfectly fine, using both AOL email adresses and my personal website addresses. In the old email app I was always greated with a mail screen showing all my accounts and how many emails in each. The new email app (im guessing is moto specific) puts all emails in one inbox which makes it difficult to figure out which one goes to which email. The browser built in displays bookmarks in either a list or as 3d icons. Either way makes it time consuming to jump to a bookmark at the end of the list. The old browser I enjoyed better with smaller icons I could more quickly scroller through.
As for the pentile screen I can see what everyone is complaining about but I don't think it will bother me much. Icons on the notification bar look pixelated up close but actual photos or webpages look detailed and better then on the OG droid. It will only bother you if you are sensitive to those small details.
Final note, because I need to run now, is the phone has randomly rebooted on me twice now. Both times I was trying to type things online in forums. The screen just went black and then the droid eye came up and quickly rebooted. That reminds me though, the boot time is much much faster then the OG droid.
Let me know if you have any specific questions and ill try to answer. My failure today was finding out Verizon stores do not consider the phone available yet so are not selling the cases, even after I showed him I already have the phone. Hope I don't drop it.
