I ordered mine last Friday, there were 6 left and the rep was able to get me one. I feel so lucky! It's out for delivery this morning

I shelled out the full price since I am not due for an upgrade yet.

A bit of trivia, I have been a hardcore Starwars fan since I saw the original movie when I was in the 4th grade at the movie theater when it first came out. I even had a pewter R2D2 pendant that came out in 1977, I was the envy of all my friends. I hope to be again with this phone

Now if I can find an R2D2 figure for my desk, I'll be complete.

Anyone know how to speed up the data connection for 3g wireless tether I use mine for xbox live and it seems to come and go for some reason any suggestions?

I have one, i bought from a coworker after he changed to a DX. I used white vinyl to get rid of the R2 crap, and tada, a solid white D2

Rooted or unrooted? What ROM?

That probably means that you're on the stock Froyo ROM that came pre-installed on the phone.

You may want to check out the various custom ROMs available for the Droid 2. This forum will give you plenty of information. Most people swear that custom ROMs (particularly blurless ROMs) are way faster than stock; I've had great success with Fission and Liberty myself. You could also give the leaked stock Gingerbread a whirl. There's even a Gingerbread-based custom ROM now (called ZombieStomped), and more will follow.

In addition, Imoseyon has a collection of tweaks that could give you an additional speed boost (and potentially longer battery life as well).

Idk how to change roms. Is tht like the only way I could speed it up?
