Just when you thought it was safe to be on the internet, new temptation appears...![]()
MDW and TBH present 2.4.0 (R2D2) for the Droid 2
Be the first on your block to run the R2D2 D2 release.
Requires root, requires that you make a freakin' nandroid backup of your current setup before installing it (or you're a doofus), requires you follow install instructions accurately, and requires that you report your findings/results.![]()
You installed it yet redflea.
-take control of your nexus experience: Make the Vzw Galaxy nexus your Galaxy Nexus. Fastboot oem unlock (to find out how ask a rescue squad member).
Jeez didn't expect that one yet
Charging up my phone to give it a try.Want to be at minimum 80%.
One guy had a boot loop, so it may not work w/out some tweaking...I saw some files in the zip that have 720p in them, so who knows what kinds of tweaks are in it that may not be compatible w/the non-R2D2 D2.
I may not be able to do it tonight...getting late and I have a 6AM call tomorrow and need my phone to be working for it.
Question is, do I feel lucky punk? Well, do I?!

God's speed sir, god's speed
People, including Motaboy, are reporting booting up OK w/2.4.0 on the MDW 2.4.0 thread.
Yeah it looks like the other guy may have been having problems because he didn't read the directions closely
Booted up fine, added accounts works fine, return to home screen after adding accounts is fine.
Apps and settings are all automatically restoring perfectly (love not having to re-learn WiFi networks!).
Looks very good...this has to get the Black Glass theme soon!![]()
Swype won't swype - only works if I type - anyone else?
Tried removing the swype version installed w/this release and then installing the swype.apk from the D2 system dump, that version won't swype either...someone better figure this out, or I'm never gonna be able to use this release.![]()
