But should I really have to turn my new droid2 off and on when I want to take pictures?
Happened to me as well, however in my case the images did not appear after a reboot, but i was able to take/view pictures normally after I rebooted.
Clearly there is a bug that causes images to be lost (temporarily or permanently)...hopefully one of us cares enough to post about this on the Motorola D2 forum (https://supportforums.motorola.com/c...ssions&start=0) so they are aware of it.
The bug isn't the photo app, it's the fact that the SD card isn't being read correctly. Next time this happens try playing a song from your SD card, bet it won't go. I posted this issue weeks ago, my brother in law has the same issue with his Droid 1.
That would be odd in my case (assuming it's a general problem accessing the SD card), as it's only the pics taken at that moment that were MIA, all previous pics, videos, etc., were fully accessible.
