Migrating from a D2G to D2 - Any issues to beware of?

My old Droid 2 Global has recently had some irresolvable issues, so to fill the gap until I can get a discounted upgrade phone on my Verizon contract I'm looking at getting a used phone off of eBay and transferring over to that.

I've found several working D2s (A955) in good condition with clean ESN in the $75-80 range. I was wondering if I'd have any issues doing a SIM card migration and completing the online activation process with a new phone considering I'm coming from the GSM-equipped A956. Would I be better off doing a little extra searching and finding a good used Droid 2 Global instead of a standard Droid 2, or should it not matter?

I'm on Verizon, and all the phones I'm looking at were previously on Verizon.
