Droid 2 Battery Use Force Close

    Hello all,
I am new to the forums, hopefully this topic is in the right section. When I go into battery manager and then into battery use it will pop up with a force close. Now this isn't an all the time thing. Restarting my phone doesn't help. My phone is a droid 2.

Welcome to the forums. I seem to remember this issue right around the release of the 2.3.20 release. You don't happen to be rooted do you?

Well I was able to get that fixed by booting in to clockwork recovery and clearing battery stats.

Make sure if yyou do that to do it on full charge.

Do I download clockwork recovery from the market? is it the app called "ROM Manager" by ClockworkMod? Is their a guide on how to use clockwork recovery? or is it a simple process?

You'll need an app called bootstrap recovery from the marketplace. It's 2 dollars but it gives you access to custom recovery which you'll need for a lot of root activities. I'm going in to class right now but I'll walk you through it when I get out. That is unless someone beats me to it.

Here is a link to the Bootstrapper for free. (It's straight from the Dev, it's free and legit, and the copy that I used on my phone).

That works too. Ok so once you download that app and install it on the phone, you'll open it up and hit bootstrap recovery and it will say success. Then hit reboot recovery. It will turn the phone off and boot in to clockworkmod recovery. Once inside you will use the volume keys to navigate and use the power button as a back button and the camera button as an enter key. You'll scroll down to advanced and then find wipe battery stats and that should get you square.
