    mp3 media not playing select music

    I just received a replacement for my Droid 1,which is a Droid 2. I tried playing my music and it says its unable to play. I would guess it is because some might have been ripped or downloaded. If i root my phone will this fix this problem or am i still screwed with this Droid 2? Any help would b great.
