Live wallpaper support using locale?

I still use locale to switch modes even after I have rooted my D2G, and was wondering if anyone had any luck cracking the restriction on live wallpaper settings under locale (paid version).

Also unrelated to locale, is there a way to dim/control the soft keys, for example since I have rooted, my alarm clock app no longer dims these keys when the night stand mode is engaged, too bright! They had fixed this on the stock rom.
