I have been researching phones on the internet all day for literally 7 hours and I'm just about to throw up my hands at the conflicting information I've found over the web so I give up and I'm posting and sorry if I'm a nub.
I want a new phone, currently have the Pre Plus, I want to 'convert' to Android. I think the Droid 2 Global is probably my best bet based on my needs, but I simply can't determine if it will be overclockable or not in the future. I read a few threads in this forum about it but they seemed to have conflicting info.
One said firmly that they are not overclockable right now, not until the bootloader's cracked, but it seemed to imply that it will happen at some point in the future.
The other thread just as firmly said that the bootloader willnever be cracked because of the encryption, but that you can overclock externally.
So you see, these two bits of info totally conflict, at least as far as I understand them.
I just want to know if I will eventually be able to OC. I'm patient, I can wait..I just need ot know if it will ever happen, otherwise I'm seriously considering a Galaxy S phone. If anyone has any advice on this stuff feel free. Sorry for being a nub, I'm new to this stuff. I usually stick to computers.
Basically these are my needs phone-wise.
I don't care SO overly much about floofy things like megapixels and HD video, they are nice but I have real actual cameras for that. I need usability for work, good UI functionality, and speed. SPEED AND POWER haha. So if a samsung will allow me to tweak it more and get better performance overall, it might be enough to make me want to not get a droid, even though I'm happier overall with the droid phones than the galaxy S. Ah dilemma. Please help, ty
