Good that you got root back
Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL using DroidForums
Yeah I am glad I have root. I have two reasons to get root. One install CPU Tuner. I think I am getting better battery life now. Maybe its my hope talking.
Also I feel that after rooting my phone feels a lot snappier and less laggy. This probably is not my imagination, because my wife commented the same. She was unaware of what I was doing. So there might be something to it. I uninstalled gingerbreak and z4root and also upgraded the superuser. Anyone of these affect performance?
My only other reason to get root is to put CM7 on the D2G. How is the experience? Anyone care to share? I am tired of this Motoblur nonsense. Its blurring my android experience.
I'm loving CM7. It boots up faster, I have more free memory and there's no bloatware
It also has a sexy look. Here's the Rootzwiki page: [DEV_THREAD]Droid 2 Global CM7 with Gingerbread Leak Kernel - RootzWiki
(I don't know if this follows forum etiquette ) Hope this helps
I've been down almost this exact same path only I'm on a windows machine, and I still cannot root. Tried both z4root and Pete's Motorola Tools. Pete's seems to think its working but nothing gets SU permission including SU itself. I have tried to update the SU binary from within the app and it cant get root access which makes me think I am not rooted. What can I do?
