    Manually booting into Clockwork Recovery

Just wanted to ask a quick question, what buttons do I hold down in order to manually boot into clockwork recovery when I power on the phone?

Do you want stock recovery, or clockworkmod recovery?

With D2 and D2G, it's more of a question of how many battery pulls (if you're bootlooped), or using the bootstrap app's reboot recovery option, or if you're on cm, hold power, click reboot, select recovery. Our cwm isn't a "true" recovery in a sense.

The phone is a D2G. I tried installing the latest CyanogenMod, but stupidly, forgot to install the 3 fixes that I was suppose to install along with the original CM mod. Anyways, the phone booted properly but there were issues with the phone(due to the lack of the 3 fixes) such as no Market app and a messed up orientation sensor.

I did see a ROM Manager thankfully preinstalled with this rom so I used that and flashed the "Droid 2" clockwork recovery. I thought I was going to be able to boot into the cwm recovery, but it didn't and kept on bringing me to a screen with a little box and the green Droid guy next to it(then just staying there and freezing).

Apparently though, in another forum(Rootzwiki), I was told that I was suppose to flash the "Droid X (2nd init)" as opposed to the "Droid 2" for cwm in ROM manager as far as which version of recovery I should use.

Currently, I don't have the phone with me, but I will try this as soon I get the chance. If this doesn't work, I have yet to try the option of using the "Reboot into recovery" from the power button menus. So that may work too? Which version of cwm from ROM manager should I be using for that?

Pulling the battery during the animated boot up screen will almost always put you into cwm on the next boot.

Don't use rom manager. Use the build provided in the dev thread.

That's the one I used, I just forgot to install the 3 fixes that the dev thread specified. When I booted up, I saw that there was a ROM manager that came preinstalled with the build so I used that to upgrade my flash recovery. Was that even needed?

Not at all. Just dl the gapps, keyboard fix, and the sensors fix. Reboot recovery. Flash them in that order. Problems solved.

That's the thing though. I'm having problems getting into recovery. One major thing though, I have yet to try going into recovery from the power button menu's(holding down the power button and going into reboot into recovery from there) since I didn't think about that. Everything else I've tried: trying to boot from ROM manager, holding down certain buttons while turning on the phone.....anyways whenever I tried any of these, it wouldn't take me to the recovery menu but instead to a box with the little Android guy, then just stays there and does nothing.

I'll give the Reboot into Recovery thing a try later when I get a hold of this phone. Hopefully that will work.
