how do i get 3g hotspot to work?

i just rooted my droid 2 and im trying to use the 3g hotspot so i can use the internet on my computer but every time i go online it takes me to some verizon website where i have to pay to use 3g, is there a way i can use the hot spot and not pay.

If you are rooted go look up Barnacle WIFI Tether. Way easier method than that 3g ICON that Verizon wants to charge you for. There are other tethering apps but I prefer this one as it is the only one I have found that allows me to tether my Asus Transformer also running android. I am sure there are others, but Barnacle is a one button, simple to use perfect app.

Quick setup and fast speeds as long as you have regular signal.

There are other methods of recoding the radio channels and all sorts of very indepth hacking, but to just use the internet on another device simply use Barnacle or another tethering app in the market.
