Phone: Motorola Droid

Theme: Bennys GB theme with Miui animation hack

i and others have had issues with superuser v2.2.2 so i don't think it's lithmod. in terminal emulator, did you type the following before applying the fonts?
$ su allinone
# allinone
there are two other simple ways i can think of to do this after performing a backup, of course.
one way is to copy the fonts (.tff files), using root explorer or another file explorer (in godmode), to /system/fonts. remember to remount as r/w. then, reboot.
another (which is what i did just because i always make some changes to the update.zip) is to reinstall the update.zip after drag and dropping the fonts (.tff files) into /system/fonts folder in the update.zip using 7zip or winrar.
i hope that helps
best,

You could also use the fonts under forkup in rom manager.
