Is it possible to change themes in the ROMS without re-flashing to another rom? I currently have Kangerade 5.0.9 Blueberry Themed.

I haven't had any issues on my phone with using the HTC IME keyboard from xda, BUT I can't install it on my wife's. There's some kind of an issue I've hit on hers, which is the Pink theme. So either there's something wrong w/ the Pink theme which I can't do much about, or I messed up something w/ the ROM since I installed it, which I will attempt to rectify.

The issue on hers is that when I go to install the .apk from XDA it gives me a message that it's out of space on the device... but there's lots free on all of the partitions, which leads me to believe it may be a permissions issue. Does anyone know where the keyboard apks are installed to? Is it somewhere different than /system/bin or /data/bin ?

I am using Swype just fine.

Try reinstalling everything again and see if it works. I'm typing this with Swype on my Droid right now.

If you use ADW or LauncherPro and if after using your browser, email or any other apps for awhile, then if you press the 'HOME' button, if it takes forever to redraw your home screen, and you are sick of that HORRIBLE LAG, then try this: In a terminal, type su and enter. Then type echo ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1 >> /data/local.prop and enter. Then reboot. Now evaluate whether or not this fixes your lag. If you want to undo what this command does, simply remove that toggle from: /data/local.prop

You need to go to "Language and Keyboard" under SETTINGS and enable it before you can choose it under the "INPUT METHOD"

Hey guys, thanks for the compliments! I'm glad I could help a few people along the way in our Droid ventures. I only learned about this command from others in the development community after hours of google'ing and reading, because I knew there had to be some way to keep Android from closing the launcher, since my launcher is such a memory hog.

To disable this toggle, just open the /data/local.prop file with a text editor, and if it has just the single line of ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1 in it, then you should be able to either toggle the 1 to a 0 and re-save it (I've never actually tried this but logic tells me this would work), or just delete the whole local.prop file altogether. If there are other lines of commands in that local.prop file, then don't delete that file, but rather just delete that single line (ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1) from the file and re-save it. The reason is because certain Android phone models used local.prop file for other things. I know my Droid did not previously have a local.prop file so my initial command created this file and inserted the toggle into it, but had you already had that file there on your phone previously, then my initial command would've just appended the toggle line into your existing file.

    Hope this helps

i just tried it, but it broke my internet connection via 3G. i dont have a wifi network to connect to yet so i cant test if its wifi too. 3G is definitely broken because I cant get online for anything.

I just toggled back and it fixed it, so its definitely this

Hmmm... weird. I wouldn't know why that would happen but my first gut instinct would be to try it again and see if I could reproduce the issue or if it would work the second time around. Also after you add in the toggle, go into that /data/local.prop file and verify that the toggle command is correctly entered in ( ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1 ). If it is, and if you still have the issue, then perhaps you have some other app installed which needs a ton of memory that keeps getting flushed out of memory which has something to do with 3g. I am completely guessing at this point. Ultimately though, if you just can't get it to work, then I guess you using it would be out of the question then.

    Hope this helps
