gtalk = 2.2?

Question :
1. Is GTalk part of 2.2, i cant find it in the market, and my gf really wants it for her D-Inc.
2. I have it, but does it use "out of network" text messages, like Yahoo IM?

i only ask this HERE, because it came from JRum's ROM. (Thx Jrummy!) :-)
