Dirty contacts for battery - apparently - update

I installed liquid 1.3 a few days ago, then installed the update 1.31 yesterday morning. Aside from the random reboots, deleting all texts periodically, and resetting my home screen back to default numerous times it was going well. Went to bed last night and plugged my phone in to charge as I usually do and woke up this morning with a cold lifeless brick. I've taken the battery out and back in several times, held the power button until my finger tip goes numb, tried power x up, nothing. Anyone have any further suggestions on un bricking my Droid 1? Thanks!

Unless your battery is bad, when you can't even turn it on it's bricked. And when it's bricked, that's it.

    Sorry to hear about that.

Make sure the contacts on the battery and charging port is clean. Those can collect a lot of dust. My D1 went dead after being on the wall charger all night. Put it back on the wall charger later that afternoon and it worked. The only thing I did was clean the contacts. Hope this helps.

E for effort, man I didn't mean to sound so rude. I did notice you edited your title, but it won't change it's beyond your control...

It's just really hard to brick a droid (I would have done it by now, trust me). Not saying it can't happen.

I would have been freaking in your situation I can guarantee that!
You did the right thing coming here for help as you did receive a fairly quick and accurate reply..
I wouldn't have thought of the contacts!

    off topic:
it reminds me of my sister in law saying that my nephew rooted his evo in like 30 minutes, but it started screwing up and took him days to unroot so he could get back in for warranty.. This all after I pointed him to the EVO forums here on DF and told him to read, read, read and read somemore... The next day on FB he posted up that his EVO was ROOTED... (he didn't listen to me about the reading part) The phone wasn't messed up I told her, if he would read, read, read and read somemore then he would have known... LMFAO

In a case like this would removing the battery and booting with the power/data cord attached allow booting to proceed? That was my suggestion - before. I realized that the problem was sovlved.

does the droid even boot at all like that stock? ( I don't think they do)
I wonder with RZ recovery having charge while in recovery can the phone actually run without battery now..
