    YouTube update not compatible?

    I've been trying to install the YouTube update that was released yesterday.

    When I try to update it through the Market as normal, it says the package was not signed correctly.

    When I uninstall the current YouTube app with Titanium Backup and then install the new YouTube app through the Market, it says the app is not compatible with my device (after it downloads and tries to install).

    Any ideas?

    I have learned that you just have to uninstall your old app then reboot your phone then download install the updated app thru the market.. That's what works for me :-)

    I second that. Worked for me with Gmail update, now YouTube update. Must be a google apps thing...

    Previously I didn't try rebooting in-between. Works great now. Thanks!

    I did this:

    1. Open Terminal Emulator.
    #sysrw
    #cd /system/app
    #rm YouTube.apk (or 'mv YouTube.apk YouTube.apx' if you want to save it)
    #rm Gmail.apk (same as above)
    #sysro
    Menu Button->Reset Term

    2. Download Gmail and YouTube from market
    3. Liberty Toolbox->Liberty Tweaks->Miscellaneous->Fix Permissions
    4. Clear Data on Gmail and YouTube apps

    Worked for me.

    Uninstalling the application, rebooting, and re-installing worked. Thanks!

    Might I suggest tubemate? Doesn't use the mobile layout and u can download the video or juat the audio from it. I highly recommend it over regular YouTube. Imo.

    Thx ... Worked for me too, although I had to do a reboot before doing the Clear Data... For some reason it didn't show up in my app list (even under the Liberty toolbox)
