    I just got a text saying there will be an update?

    I'm trying to root my phone but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
    If I download this update am I still gonna be able to root?
    If not, how long do you think it will be until someone finds another exploit?

    I'm waiting to hear a definite word on this as well.

    Take a look at Super One Touch for rooting the phone. You may have to toggle the USB debugging mode to get it to click. It worked well for me after i figured that out.

    Try Super One Click. It worked for me on 2.2.1. I'm holding off to see if 2.2.2 changes that.

    Download the gingerbreak apk v1.2. I can confirm that it works on 2.2.2. Just google it. It was the easiest root I have ever done, did not even have to hook up to a comp. Just dismount your sd and run the app.
