Ok, so cyanogen is one of the most popular droid ROM's on the web, but I don't really get what's so great about it, its like any other ROM to me. Can somebody explain the key features?

It's one of the smoothest ROMs, and every ROM takes some bit or piece from it to use in their own (Some take the whole thing...)
It was also the only one with Apps2SD support in 2.1.
They also wait until the official source code is released and use that as the base, they don't distribute ROMs based on leaked or experimental code, which shows a high degree of professionalism and pride in their work that I respect.
