I am seriously considering the Thunderbolt, but we only have 3G in the area for now. With my 3G in the Xoom I get about 2.5 down and 860 up. Just wondering if I can expect the same on the Thunderbolt?

I only have 3G at home and it seems just as fast as the D1, DInc and X that I used to have.

3g is very temperamental, at least where I am (Atlanta area). Sometimes I get 2 - 3mb down and around 1 up. Other times it's really slow. I'm at work in an office building and I just ran speedtest and got 290k down and 250k up.
On the other hand, 4g is much more consistent, even when I'm inside.
My experience so far has been that the 3G on the Bolt is faster than my old OG Droid. That said, the Bolt admittedly also has some issues receiving the 3G signal at times. If you do have a connection though, it is faster.
