What makes you think that you can stop those bg apps with a task killer?

Cause when I kill them they close (though often times reopen in time).

    What do you recommend?

    I'm looking for help.

just let them run. I to was under the impression that those apps needed to be shut off and killed. from what I have learned from several people here, it is a contradicting application. Your trying to keep apps from constantly running in the background, yet you chose to have this "app killer" always running in the background which sucks on your battery throughout the day. From what I understand, your phone knows which apps to overturn. I unistalled mine last week and have noticed a good difference.

get rid of app killer and let Android manage what is running. Also, Android already comes with task killer just in case, its located under settings > applications.

That's helpful--Productive use of your time.

No really, you should search before starting a new thread because this has been answered a thousand times here at df alone! It's a "more productive use" of the time of all those who have answered this over and over and over.

Ditch the task killer and juice defender. Also, don't sync everything available in accounts & sync. Task killer is the main one, as you close all those processes Android re-opens them over and over using more battery. Juice defender can use more battery because it has to search for and connect to the network each time jd allows it.you're better just staying connected.

Android has an excellent task killer. Go to your app drawer > press menu > remove app > at the top, hit Running > select which app you want to close > press force close

I'm also curious about this one...

Does anyone use juice defender? Does it do more harm than good?

    Already answered it...

Yes, in my opinion more harm than good. There are of course exceptions, but for most users more harm than good...
