    Launcher Options

Now that the TB is finally being released tomorrow, what launcher will everyone be using ? Will people use sense for awhile and then go to their favorite or just stick to sense? Me , I think I'll play with sense for a bit, get the hang of it , then maybe go to GolauncherEX that I have one my D1 .

This is my first Android phone so I'll probably use Sense for a while and see what everyone else uses after a while.

I currently use GoLauncherEx on my D1 too, after many months of using LauncherPro. But it seems a lot of the launcher and widget combinations I have are basically trying to mimic Sense in a way (beautiful widgets clock/weather, pure grid calendar, some of the LauncherPro widgets), so I'll be looking forward to using Sense and not having to have multiple launchers that don't all have the features I want in one.

Of course, I'm sure a few months in I'll get bored and want a change, but Sense ui is one of the big benefits of this phone for me.

Well, the coolest thing for me is the "FriendStream" widget, which basically puts all your social network contacts and statuses in one place. There are apps out there that try to mimic that, but they don't do nearly as good a job (at least in my experience). Also has the best looking clock/weather and calendar widgets which have been copied by tons of apps, but none are as good (and the ones that are good are paid apps).

Also sense 2.0 lets you change themes and skins, which is nice, without having to root or download multiple launchers/apps. And am hoping htcsense.com will be integrated with it, which would let you back up your settings online, allow you to turn the ringer on if you've lost your phone, and a bunch of other cool stuff. I'm not sure if that's integrated or not with the TB, would be really cool though.

I think I will be playing with sense for a bit. I use Launcherpro on my D1 and really got used to it. If most of the features are built into sense, then I don't see the reason to use something else. In fact, the phone as a whole will probably have most the features that I had to root my D1 to get. I do love me some Titanium BU though. I will probably have to root just for that alone.

So you really could go without rooting since they said it would be "blazing fast" then. When I first got my D1, I took nearly 3 mo to root.

Personally I'll stay with sense untill a really good rom comes out then ill switch over. I just test drove the phone and imo there is no need for anything but sense.

Sense is htc's custom skin on top of android. It adds a bunch of features and a level of polish that is slightly lacking on stock android.
