    Need help with importing pictures

    Hello all,

I'm new to the site, and just ran a quick search but nothing came up. I have owned the Rezound since it came out, and I need to know how to take pictures off my phone and onto my pc. I tried down loading the drivers and using HTC sync....but it kind of sucks. I understand a little bit about the files and stuff, but I couldn't find the picture file....

I put my phone in the mount disk option and I had two storage devices pop up, one for the rezound itself and one for a removeable disk. I tried finding a picture file in both, but no luck. If you guys have a solution to this problem it would be great!! (It's kinda of making me mad that i can't find it )

I'm useing Windos Vista...not sure it that matters or not.

    Thanks in advanced. ~YarOne~

I helped a friend do some file transfer stuff on a Rezound a few months ago. I recall the phone asked which mode to enter when connecting the USB cable. Once connected it was a simple process. The phone became simple flash memory. This was with a Windows 7 computer. If you're unable to figure it, install Dropbox. Upload from phone, download to designated shared folder.

You can use Picasa as well. I use the Picasa Tool app because you can actually download pictures from Picasa and save it to the phones internal storage.

Awesome, thanks for the quick replys!! However, is there a way to take the pictures off my sd card without downloading something to transfer them?
If not thats fine I just wanted to ask.

    Thanks again.

Simplest, easiest way to transfer anything SD is to just plug in, select connect as diskdrive, and surf folders like you would on your PC. The first thing you will need to do is figure out where your pictures are going. If they are pics you took they likely will be on your external SD. I think that's the default, and a quick way to check is open the camera and then go menu>storage. It will say internal or external. Just a little FYI if it's not set to external I would change it for the following reasons; if you ever have to factory reset external isn't wiped unless you choose to, it will save you a ton of memory, and you can always use an adapter if you're out without a cable. Back to the issue at hand. Now that you know where your pictures are going it will be easy to find. When you connect as a diskdrive you'll see two new folders show up in your my computer folder, G and H I think. One will have a bunch of folders, this is the internal memory, the other will only have a handful, in comparison, depending on how many apps you send to SD, and this will be your external. Either way the extension is the same DCIM>100MEDIA. Another quick note, if you change the name of the folder in your my computer folder (G + H) to something like InternalSD and ExternalSD they will always show up that way when ever you plug in even on other PCs.
If the pictures are from texts, email, other, other apps or something like that they may not be in your DCIM folder. For pics like this you can check the app settings to try and find where it is default sending your pics, but the easier way is to go to the drive folder in your my computer folder, depending on whether you have the app in internal memory or external, finding the folder for that app, most will have the name of the app as the folder name, some may have the developers name, then browsing the folders in the app folder. For example I have one app where the folder name is the app name, and the pics are stored in a folder called "data", and another where the pics are in a folder named "media", but they will likely be in there somewhere.

Downloaded pics from the internet will be in the drive folder under my computer, depending on the app, internal or external. These items are almost always in folders named "download", lower case D, and sometimes in folders named "downloads" lower case D with an S at the end. I have seen a few capital D's but not many. Usually the items are right there when the folder is opened. They don't usually have sub-folders.

If any of this doesn't work for you post again and I will help you find the pics location. Another note, if you are using windows 7 you can select either drive from the my computer folder and in the search box top left type "Type:jpg" or "Type:gif" and it will show you every jpg or gif file on the that drive. It works for any file type so you should be able to find at least one of the files then check its properties and see the drive path to its location.
